Clare and Aoife, two passionate dental sleep medicine enthusiasts, met in 2019 and quickly realised that they wanted to help improve other healthcare practitioners learn more about the subject. They decided to take matters into their own hands and created Airway School, a platform dedicated to educating healthcare providers on dental sleep medicine, airway, myofunctional therapy, and more. With their combined expertise, they hope to make a positive impact on the industry and help dentists improve the quality of their patients' lives

Co-Founder

Dr Clare Simon

Dr Clare Simon is the lead and founder of The London Dental Sleep Clinic. Dr. Simon graduated from King’s College London Dental School in 2010 and quickly advanced in her field, earning her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in 2012. With over a decade of experience in general practice, she now devotes her career entirely to dental sleep medicine. She was among the first UK dentists to attend the prestigious Masterclass organised by the British Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and has completed her PG certificate in Dental Sleep Medicine further establishing her expertise.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Simon served on the board of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine and runs training courses for dentists interested in dental sleep medicine. Her passion for the field extends to her involvement in The Sleep Charity, where she serves on the Sleep Council Advisory Board, contributing to important initiatives aimed at improving sleep health across the UK.

Co-Founder

Dr Aoife Stack

Dr Aoife Stack is a general dentist with an interest in how function and structure come together to affect our airways, sleep, breathing and facial form. Dr Stack graduated with honours from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2013. She has gained membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery in 2014.

She has completed a one year orthodontic certificate in London and is currently studying diploma in early interceptive orthodontics. She has trained with The Breathe Institute in Los Angeles for treatment of tongue tie. She is a trained myofunctional therapist and trained in use of lasers in dentistry.

She performs functional frenuloplasty, treating children and adults within a multidisciplinary team to help her patients her towards optimal health. She is an avid learner and takes courses and attends conferences to keep up to date with current thinking, and has a keen interest in research having most recently been published in the British Dental Journal.

Dr Stack serves on the board of the British Society of Dental Sleep Medicine. She has been speaking on the topic of myofucntional therapy since 2022. She is a member of the Society of dento facial growth and function, and the British Society of Integrated Dentistry.
